Call for applications for “Online Japanese Language Course for Afghans” : Beginner class + Basic class (Vacancy recruitment)
Call for Applications for the “Online Japanese Language Course for Afghans”, Beginner class and Basic class will be open from 10th Tuesday to 17th Tuesday October 2023.
This course aims to support Afghan evacuees and former students residing in Japan who do not have other opportunities to learn Japanese language by a professional language teacher. Through the online lessons, the participants are expected to improve their Japanese language skill for opening up better career opportunities and building competencies in Japan.
Course outline (Please choose which course you would like to attend in the options provided in the application form):
Beginner level class
Period: November 2nd week – December 4th week
Lesson hours: Tuesday 7:00-9:00pm and Thursday 7:00-9:00pm
Lessen fee: No fee is required
Type of class: Online class (Zoom)
Class: Beginner level (for people already learned 30-50 hours, can read and write Hiragana), focusing on working environment
Number of participants: 6
Target: Afghan evacuees and residents in Japan who have difficulty in returning home
Deadline for submission: Thursday 13th October
*The participant will be entitled to take an upper-level course if they attend all the lessons and pass the exam.
Basic level class
Period: November 3rd week – January 1st week
Lesson hours: Monday 7:00-9:00pm and Wednesday 7:00-9:00pm
Lessen fee: No fee is required
Type of class: Online class (Zoom)
Class: Basic level (for people already learned around 51 – 100 hours, can have basic conversation), focusing on working environment
Number of participants: 4 (maximum)
Target: Afghan evacuees and residents in Japan who have difficulty in returning home
Deadline for submission: Thursday 13th October
*The participant will be entitled to take a follow-up job preparation class after the term completes.
Qualification:
- Applicants have to be at beginner level (30-50 hours of study) or basic level (around 51 – 100 hours) in Japanese (it is not a course for intermediate or advanced)
- Applicants have to be older than 15 years old (negotiable for participation under 15 years)
- Applicants should be able to attend every class and submit your homework every week. (more than 3 absences or more than 2 tardies without prior notice to the teacher (more than 10 minutes late) will be considered as failure to continue the program and will not be allowed to participate thereafter)
- Participants should be willing to find employment (or build a further career) in Japan after completion of the class
