The Toshizo Watanabe International Scholarship was established through the generous donation of Mr. Toshizo Watanabe to support young people who have gone through the difficult experience of becoming refugees, and continue to study and strive to contribute to society. The scholarship is specifically targeted to refugees with limited period legal status who have less opportunities to pursue higher education. By providing them with opportunities for further education, we support them so that they can find employment and live and work in Japanese society with peace of mind in the future.
The scholarship is also characterized by the fact that it supports applicants’ advancement to higher education institutions of their choice, whether junior college, undergraduate school, or graduate school, and is a full scholarship that supports tuition (within the maximum amount of 1.7 million yen) and living expenses . The scholarship does not require repayment and can be combined with other scholarships.
The application period is from Monday, November 13, 2023 to Friday, January 12, 2024.
