Japan-Ukraine University Pathways : 2023 Autumn Recruitment (Admission in September 2023).

Japan-Ukraine University Pathways is a programme that accepts Ukrainian students forced to leave their home country due to Russia’s military invasion and provides them with higher education at Japanese universities, leading to employment and self-reliance. The programme has accepted 61 students from 16 universities by June 2023.

In autumn 2023, three universities – Kansai University of Foreign Studies, Tokiwa University and Soka University – will recruit new students from Ukrainian evacuees already living in Japan. Applicants for this programme are mainly those who have acquired Japanese language skills at JLPT N3 level or above at Japanese language schools or non-degree programmes at universities (applicants for Kansai University of Foreign Studies can also apply even if their skills are below N4). Applicants to this programme ca first further improve their Japanese language skills in a non-degree programme such as the Bekka for International Students or Credited Auditors, and then have the opportunity to enter an undergraduate or postgraduate degree programmes by passing an entrance or transfer examination.

Applications will be accepted on the following dates and we look forward to receiving applications from Ukrainian students, especially those with Japanese language skills of N3 or above, who wish to enter a university.
Please note that students enrolled in Japanese high schools are not eligible to apply for this call for universities, so please wait for the spring 2024 call scheduled for autumn, while preparing for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU).
